Alvah N. Belding Memorial Library

WELCOME TO ANBL

A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR:

Hello, Library Family,

It's hard to believe it is almost August already. While this summer hasn't gone the way any of us planned, we hope beyond hope that things will start to return to normal soon.
Due to the increased incidences and risk of coronavirus, ANBL has made the difficult decision to keep the library closed to the public. The library leadership places the safety of patrons and staff as our highest priority. Although we in Belding are in better shape than many other areas, our proximity to areas with high and rising case counts keeps us committed to doing our part to help improve the situation.

We have made necessary changes in our library services since mid-March, and on the whole, those changes have been accepted with grace and understanding, and for that, the library staff gives thanks. We consistently have high numbers of engagement with our youth programming which is now taking place entirely online and being live-streamed. We are having a great response to our summer reading program which is run through the Beanstack app, and we can't wait to be able to hand out prizes at the end of the program! We have done away with fines on all materials owned by our library, in an effort to encourage people to use the services that are available, and to feel comfortable checking out library materials, even in these uncertain times. Our curbside service is available every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and allows people to check out books, movies, and audiobooks safely.

The changes we have made allow people to have continued use of many of the library services that they depend on and expect, even if the building isn't able to be open yet.  The status of library services is continuously updated on the Library's website and Facebook page.

Thank you for your continued patience as we move forward.

Britney Dillon,

Library Director
